What actually happens, start to finish
You should know exactly what your treatment involves before you begin. Here is the whole thing in order, from your first visit through to your retainers.
Your exam and digital scan
Dr. Elosta examines your teeth and bite and takes a digital scan. There is no putty and no impression tray. He then reviews that scan with you, shows you the projected result, and confirms you are a good candidate for treatment.
Your trays get made
Invisalign manufactures a numbered series to Dr. Elosta's plan. Each tray moves specific teeth a fraction of a millimeter further than the one before it.
22 hours a day, every day
This is the part that decides your result. Wear each tray about 22 hours a day and move to the next every one to two weeks. The more consistent you are, the more smoothly the case runs, and we help you build the habit at every visit.
Out for meals, in the rest of the time
Take them out to eat and to clean your teeth, then put them straight back in. Nothing is off the menu and flossing stays exactly as it is now.
Progress check-ups, then retainers
Short check-up visits with Dr. Elosta every six to eight weeks, most of them under fifteen minutes, so your progress is monitored the whole way through. When the last tray comes out you move on to retainers, and those are what hold everything in place.
