An implant is not one appointment. Here is the whole sequence in order, including the healing time in the middle, so you know what to expect before you begin.
Your consultation and 3D CT scan
A cone beam 3D CT scan shows how much bone you have and exactly where the nerve sits. Dr. Elosta reviews it with you, explains what it means for your case, and confirms whether an implant is the right treatment before any of it is booked.
Placing the post
A short surgical visit under local anesthetic, with oral sedation available if you would prefer it. A channel is prepared in the jaw and the titanium post is fitted into it, often through a surgical guide made from your scan.
Two to six months of healing
The bone needs to fuse to the post before anything can be loaded onto it, and that healing is what sets the timeline. In most cases a temporary can be worn while the site heals, and Dr. Elosta goes over that with you before the post is placed.
The abutment
A small connector is attached to the healed post. It is the part that joins the implant below the gum to the crown above it.
The crown
A custom crown is fitted onto the abutment and matched to the teeth around it. From that point you brush and floss it like any other tooth.
